Description: The ALTON C. DUSTIN was built in 1913 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Alton C. Dustin is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 525 feet, and a width of 58 feet. It displaces 7978 tons, and has a load capacity of 5609 tons. It entered service in the year 1913 under the ownership of Cleveland Steamship Co. (John Mitchell, Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Reported eastbound at Snell Lock November 30, 1973, in tow of tug SALVAGE MONARCH, bound for scrapping; cleared Quebec December 4, 1973, in tow of tug SEETRANS I, for overseas scrapping.
