Description: The WINONA was built in 1863 by Henry Kelley at Milan, OH U.S. The Winona is a wood hulled schooner with 2 masts, a length of 122 feet, and a width of 25 feet. It displaces 286 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Stranded near Sheboygan, WI, Lake Michigan, November, 1872. Final enrollment surrendered at Cleveland, OH, July 8, 1875, and endorsed "vessel lost and abandoned; papers lost." The photograph shows the Winona under way on the Great Lakes.
