The YN-18 (MAHOGANY) was built in 1942 by American Ship Building Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Yn-18 (Mahogany) is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 163 feet, and a width of 30 feet. It entered service in the year 1942 under the ownership of U.S. Navy of Washington, DC U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Grounded on a reef in Buckner Bay, Okinawa, during typhoon, on September 14, 1945. Released and towed to Guam for stripping. Decommissioned at Guam on April 19, 1946, and scuttled. The photograph shows the Yn-18 (Mahogany) at Cleveland, OH.
