The WILLIAM C. MORELAND was built in 1910 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The William C. Moreland is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 580 feet, and a width of 58 feet. It displaces 7514 tons, and has a load capacity of 5803 tons. It entered service in the year 1910 under the ownership of Interstate Steamship Co. (W.H. Becker, Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to Spanish shipbreakers, through Marine Salvage, Port Colborne, Ont., in spring, 1970. Departed Quebec under tow, May 5, 1970; arrived at Cartagena, Spain, for scrapping, June 6, 1970. The photograph shows the William C. Moreland at As new.
