The PRESQUE ISLE was built in 1898 by Cleveland Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Presque Isle is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 407 feet, and a width of 50 feet. It displaces 4578 tons, and has a load capacity of 3570 tons. It entered service in the year 1965 under the ownership of Huron Portland Cement Division, National Gypsum Co. The photograph shows the Presque Isle under way on the Great Lakes.
