The PEORIA was built in 1854 by A. Gilmore at Black River, OH U.S. The Peoria is a schooner with 2 masts, a length of 113 feet, and a width of 24 feet. It displaces 226 tons. It entered service in the year 1854 under the ownership of Charles Livingston, E.P. Frink. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Last documented in 1901. Blown ashore and wrecked in storm on Lake Michigan, November 12, 1901. Lost near Bailey's Harbor. The photograph shows the Peoria under way on the Great Lakes.
