The ASPEN was built in 1906 by Toledo Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Aspen is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 117 feet, and a width of 25 feet. It displaces 277 tons, and has a load capacity of 82 tons. It entered service in the year 1906 under the ownership of United States Lighthouse Service of Washington, DC U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped, November, 1999, at Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. by Purvis Marine. The photograph shows the Aspen under way on the Great Lakes.
