The CAPTAIN GEORGE was built in 1954 by Hans Hansen Welding Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Captain George is a steel hulled tug with a length of 34 feet, and a width of 12 feet. It displaces 14 tons, and has a load capacity of 11 tons. It entered service in the year 1954 under the ownership of Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corp. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The photograph shows the Captain George under way on the Great Lakes.
