Description: The MARUBA was built in 1890 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Maruba is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 290 feet, and a width of 40 feet. It displaces 2311 tons, and has a load capacity of 1836 tons. It entered service in the year 1890 under the ownership of Minnesota Steamship Co. of Duluth, MN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Abandoned in 1932. Vessel stripped and superstructure removed at East 40th St., Cleveland, OH, and used as land fill. Tank tops still were visible in 1934. The photograph shows the Maruba under way on the Great Lakes.
