Description: The WORRELL CLARKSON was built in 1923 by Toledo Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Worrell Clarkson is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 588 feet, and a width of 60 feet. It displaces 8203 tons, and has a load capacity of 6789 tons. It entered service in the year 1923 under the ownership of Kinsman Transit Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Departed Cleveland September 26, in tow of SALVAGE MONARCH and "G" tug SUPERIOR, bound for Spain and scrapping (1973). Arrived in tow at Gandia, Spain, prior to December 7, 1973, having passed Gibraltar December 2, 1973, en route from Quebec. The photograph shows the Worrell Clarkson under way on the Great Lakes.
