The ISAAC M. SCOTT was built in 1909 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Isaac M. Scott is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6372 tons, and has a load capacity of 4840 tons. It entered service in the year 1909 under the ownership of Virginia Steamship Co. (M.A. Hanna Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Foundered on Lake Huron with all hands in "Big Storm," November 9-12, 1913; 28 lives lost. Cargo of coal, from Cleveland, insured for $20,000; vessel valued at $340,000; insured for $325,000. The photograph shows the Isaac M. Scott under way on the Great Lakes.
