The GEORGE HAWLEY was built in 1912 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The George Hawley is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 247 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2549 tons, and has a load capacity of 1699 tons. It entered service in the year 1912 under the ownership of Boston & Virginia Transportation Co. of Boston, MA U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Abandoned in 1950.
