The QUINCY A. SHAW was built in 1911 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Quincy A. Shaw is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6336 tons, and has a load capacity of 5013 tons. It entered service in the year 1911 under the ownership of Calumet Transportation Co. (M.A. Hanna Co., Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold in August, 1963, to Columbia Iron & Metals Co., who resold her to Western Iron & Metal Co., Port Arthur, Ont. Scrapped there in winter, 1963-1964. The photograph shows the Quincy A. Shaw at St. Marys River.
