The THOMAS ADAMS was built in 1902 by Craig Shipbuilding Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Thomas Adams is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 370 feet, and a width of 50 feet. It displaces 3784 tons, and has a load capacity of 3187 tons. It entered service in the year 1902 under the ownership of Adams Transportation Co. of Toledo, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold in April, 1962, to Marine Salvage Ltd., Port Colborne, Ontario, for scrapping. Passed down, Welland Canal, August 16, 1962, with tugs PORT WELLER, and SALVAGE MONARCH, for scrapping at Humberstone, Ontario. The photograph shows the Thomas Adams under way on the Great Lakes.
