dc.description The THOMAS QUAYLE was built in 1867 by Quayle & Martin at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Thomas Quayle is a wood hulled tug with a length of 125 feet, and a width of 21 feet. It displaces 202 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Arrived at Ontonagon, MI, October 27, 1885, with schooners COMMODORE, W.L. PECK, and ZACH CHANDLER in tow. About 1:30 a.m., October 28, 1885, vessel was discovered to be on fire. Burned to the water's edge, a total loss. The photograph shows the Thomas Quayle under way on the Great Lakes.
