The IROQUOIS was built in 1901 by Craig Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Iroquois is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 214 feet, and a width of 34 feet. It displaces 1169 tons, and has a load capacity of 795 tons. It entered service in the year 1901 under the ownership of George T. Arnold of Mackinac Island, MI U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: April 15, 1983 sank because of explosives on her in Akutan, Alaska. The photograph shows the Iroquois under way on the Great Lakes.
