dc.description The JOSEPH WOOD was built in 1910 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Joseph Wood is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6360 tons, and has a load capacity of 4921 tons. It entered service in the year 1910 under the ownership of Eastern Steamship Co. (M.A. Hanna Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The photograph shows the Joseph Wood under way on the Great Lakes.
