The JOSEPH WOOD was built in 1910 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Joseph Wood is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6360 tons, and has a load capacity of 4921 tons. It entered service in the year 1910 under the ownership of Eastern Steamship Co.
