The I.W. NICHOLAS was built in 1894 by Cleveland Ship Building Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The I.W. Nicholas is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 328 feet, and a width of 42 feet. It displaces 2624 tons, and has a load capacity of 1857 tons. It entered service in the year 1894 under the ownership of Minch Transit Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped in 1936. The photograph shows the I.W. Nicholas under way on the Great Lakes.
