The BALL BROTHERS was built in 1905 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Ball Brothers is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 480 feet, and a width of 52 feet. It displaces 5733 tons, and has a load capacity of 4438 tons. It entered service in the year 1904 under the ownership of Globe Steamship Co. (G.A. Tomlinson, Mgr.) of Duluth, MN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to Marine Salvage, Port Colborne, Ont., in 1963. Locked down through Welland Canal under own power, September 9, 1963, and scrapped by Steel Company of Canada, Ltd., at Hamilton, Ont.; winter, 1963-1964.
