Description: The ELLEN WILLIAMS was built in 1855 by Peck & Masters at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Ellen Williams is a wood hulled schooner with 2 masts, a length of 130 feet, and a width of 30 feet. It displaces 390 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Final enrollment surrendered at Chicago, IL, March 7, 1910, and endorsed "rig change." However vessel fails to appear in any other enrollments and is presumed to have been abandoned. The photograph shows the Ellen Williams under way on the Great Lakes.
