Description: The DENMARK was built in 1909 by Toledo Shipbuilding Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Denmark is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 440 feet, and a width of 56 feet. It displaces 5448 tons, and has a load capacity of 4434 tons. It entered service in the year 1909 under the ownership of Maumee Steamship Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Resold in May, 1961, to Terrestre Maritime S.A., and arrived in tow of German tug ELBE, along with propeller MICHAEL GALLAGHER, at Spezia, Italy, for scrapping, on August 6, 1961.
