The CRETE was built in 1907 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Crete is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 480 feet, and a width of 52 feet. It displaces 6189 tons, and has a load capacity of 4764 tons. It entered service in the year 1907 under the ownership of Lackawanna Steamship Co. (Pickands, Mather & Co., Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Towed to Italy for scrapping, 1962.
