Description: The GERMAN was built in 1868 by Henry D. Root at Black River (Lorain), OH U.S. The German is a wood hulled scow schooner with a length of 82 feet, and a width of 21 feet. It displaces 79 tons, and has a load capacity of 75 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Final enrollment surrendered at Milwaukee, WI, on November 28, 1908, and endorsed "abandoned."
