Description: The EDISON LIGHT was built in 1912 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Edison Light is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 247 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2549 tons, and has a load capacity of 1699 tons. It entered service in the year 1912 under the ownership of Boston-Virgina Transportation Co. (C.G. Stoddard, Mgr.) of New York, NY U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Departed Cardiff, Wales, for Marseilles, France, on October 31, 1916. Was reported passing Peuzauce on November 3, 1916. Reported missing on Bay of Biscay following this, with all hands. In all probability, torpedoed.
