Description: The BUCKEYE was built in 1961 by Hans Hansen Welding Co., Inc. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Buckeye is a steel hulled tug with a length of 36 feet, and a width of 12 feet. It displaces 12 tons, and has a load capacity of 6 tons. It entered service in the year 1961 under the ownership of Price Brothers Co. (MI) of Toledo, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Foundered on August 26, 1987, in position 41.45N x 87.13W, on Lake Michigan. Final document surrendered in October, 1979. The photograph shows the Buckeye under way on the Great Lakes. More information about this vessel is available at the HCGL Website
