The B.F. FERRIS was built in 1870 by John E. Monk at Sandusky, OH U.S. The B.F. Ferris is a wood hulled steamer with a length of 124 feet, and a width of 21 feet. It displaces 168 tons, and has a load capacity of 93 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Last enrollment surrendered at Port Huron, MI, on October 17, 1893, and endorsed "burned to total loss." Another account says burned off Keweenaw Point, Lake Superior. The photograph shows the B.F. Ferris at Sandusky, OH.
