Description: The JAMES P. WALSH was built in 1905 by Craig Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The James P. Walsh is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 488 feet, and a width of 52 feet. It displaces 5630 tons, and has a load capacity of 4772 tons. It entered service in the year 1905 under the ownership of Ohio Steamship Co. (Charles O. Jenkins, Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Resold to Eisen und Metall A.G., Hamburg, Germany. Passed down at Detroit, in tow of tug MATTON, May 23, 1961; then towed to Germany. Demolition started at Hamburg, July 18, 1961. The photograph shows the James P. Walsh at Cleveland, OH.
