Description: The CHARLES S. PRICE was built in 1910 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Charles S. Price is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6322 tons, and has a load capacity of 4901 tons. It entered service in the year 1910 under the ownership of Mahoning Steamship Co. (M.A. Hanna Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Foundered in "Big Storm" of November 9-13, 1913, with all hands; twenty-eight lives lost. Discovered floating bottom up eleven miles northeast of Fort Gratiot Light, Lake Huron. Bound up from Ashtabula, OH, for Superior, WI, with 9000 tons soft coal. The photograph shows the Charles S.
