Description: The GIPSEY was built in 1847 by Ira Lafrinnier at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Gipsey is a wood hulled schooner with 2 masts, a length of 105 feet, and a width of 21 feet. It displaces 181 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Abandoned at Menominee, MI, in 1911. The photograph shows the Gipsey under way on the Great Lakes.
