The DAVID Z. NORTON was built in 1898 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The David Z. Norton is a steel hulled barge with a length of 369 feet, and a width of 45 feet. It displaces 3250 tons, and has a load capacity of 2926 tons. It entered service in the year 1898 under the ownership of Wilson Transit Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped by Steel Co. of Canada, Ltd., at Hamilton, Ontario, in 1956.
