The CRATHORNE was built in 1918 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Crathorne is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 253 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2241 tons, and has a load capacity of 1349 tons. It entered service in the year 1918 under the ownership of U.S. Shippping Board of Washington, DC U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Arrived at Hong Kong on January 18, 1961 for scrapping. The photograph shows the Crathorne under way on the Great Lakes.
