The METEOR was built in 1901 by Craig Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Meteor is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 253 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2301 tons, and has a load capacity of 1565 tons. It entered service in the year 1901 under the ownership of Globe Navigation Co. of Seattle, WA U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Stranded on Block Island, Rhode Island, July 10, 1926, and became total loss. The photograph shows the Meteor under way on the Great Lakes.
