The SELDEN E. MARVIN was built in 1881 by John E. and Daniel E. Bailey at Toledo, OH U.S. The Selden E. Marvin is a wood hulled schooner with a length of 174 feet, and a width of 33 feet. It displaces 618 tons, and has a load capacity of 587 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Foundered November 19, 1914, in tow of propeller C.F. CURTIS, along with schooner ANNIE M. PETERSON; all hands (28) lost on all vessels, seven from the MARVIN. Wreckage washed ashore seven miles east of Grand Marais, MI, Lake Superior.
