The ALGONQUIN was built in 1898 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Algonquin is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 188 feet, and a width of 32 feet. It displaces 1181 tons. It entered service in the year 1898 under the ownership of U.S. Treasury Department Revenue Cutter Service. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped on West Coast in 1948. The photograph shows the Algonquin under way on the Great Lakes.
