The HORACE JOHNSON was built in 1929 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Horace Johnson is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 587 feet, and a width of 60 feet. It displaces 7918 tons, and has a load capacity of 6157 tons. It entered service in the year 1929 under the ownership of Pittsburgh Steamship Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapping begun by Shearmet Recycling at Thunder Bay, Ontario, in June, 1984.
