The J.J. SULLIVAN was built in 1907 by American Ship Building Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The J.J. Sullivan is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 532 feet, and a width of 56 feet. It displaces 7077 tons, and has a load capacity of 5541 tons. It entered service in the year 1907 under the ownership of Superior Steamship Co. (Hutchinson & Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Removed from service at the end of 1976 season by Inland Steel, for scrapping. Removed from documentation in February, 1977, as scrapped. Removed to Port Colborne, Ont., for scrapping by Marine Salvage, Ltd. The photograph shows the J.J. Sullivan under way on the Great Lakes.
