The TWIN PORTS was built in 1923 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Twin Ports is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 250 feet, and a width of 42 feet. It displaces 1460 tons, and has a load capacity of 840 tons. It entered service in the year 1923 under the ownership of Minnesota-Atlantic Transit Co. of Duluth, MN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped by A. Newman & Co., Ltd., at Port Dalhousie, Ont., in 1954. The photograph shows the Twin Ports at Waterford, NY; New York State Barge Canal, Lock 3.
