Description: The AM-384 (SPRIG) was built in 1945 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Am-384 (Sprig) is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 221 feet, and a width of 32 feet. It entered service in the year 1945 under the ownership of United States Navy of Washington, DC U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Stricken from Navy List on July 1, 1972. Sold on December 20, 1973, to Southern Scrap Metal Co., New Orleans, LA for scrapping. The photograph shows the Am-384 (Sprig) at On sea trials off Lorain, OH.
