The CHARLES BEATTY was built in 1902 by Craig Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Charles Beatty is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 211 feet, and a width of 40 feet. It displaces 986 tons, and has a load capacity of 814 tons. It entered service in the year 1902 under the ownership of Volunteer Transportation Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Removed from documentation in July, 1974, as sold Canadian for scrap. Scrapping completed at Hamilton, Ontario, in October, 1974. The photograph shows the Charles Beatty at Toledo, OH.
