Description: The GRECIAN was built in 1891 by Globe Shipbuilding Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Grecian is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 296 feet, and a width of 40 feet. It displaces 2348 tons, and has a load capacity of 1875 tons. It entered service in the year 1891 under the ownership of Menominee Transit Co. (M.A. Hanna & Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The photograph shows the Grecian under way on the Great Lakes. More information about this vessel is available at the HCGL Website
