The SPECULAR was built in 1882 by George & Co. Presley at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Specular is a wood hulled schooner with a length of 263 feet, and a width of 38 feet. It displaces 1687 tons, and has a load capacity of 1602 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sunk in collision with propeller DENVER, August 22, 1900, off Point Pelee, Lake Erie.
