The WILLIAM T. GRAVES was built in 1867 by Thomas Quayle at Cleveland, OH U.S. The William T. Graves is a wood hulled bark with 3 masts, a length of 207 feet, and a width of 35 feet. It displaces 804 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Stranded on Dover's Point, on southwest tip of North Manitou Island, Lake Michigan, in snow storm on October 31, 1885; no lives lost. Was bound from Chicago for Buffalo with corn; schooner GEORGE W. ADAMS in tow. Schooner released. The photograph shows the William T. Graves under way on the Great Lakes.
