Teacher Notes
*We suggest that before performing the WebQuest students should take part in a literacy circle reading of Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson. A literacy circle is student led. The participating students set the pace at which the book is read and decide what topics they will discuss.
*The groups that are formed to complete the WebQuest work best if they are the same group members who read together in the literacy circle.
*This WebQuest can be modified to be used in other grades. Simple adaptations to the content standards can be made.
*After students complete the WebQuest you can present them with the included certificate to reward them on a job well done.
